Step into a magical midsummer evening at The Charlies—Gaslight Theatre’s annual awards celebration and members meeting. Inspired by the enchantment and mischief of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this year’s event reflects the joy, humor, and sparkle that lit up our 2024–2025 season.
The night begins at 6:30 pm with a lively cocktail hour in the Turpin, complete with a cash bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. At 7:30 pm, the ceremony begins in the theatre as we honor the performers, crew, and volunteers who made this season extraordinary. Following the ceremony, the celebration continues in the Turpin with drinks, snacks, and time to mingle until 9:30 pm.

About the Charlie Awards
The Charlie Awards is the Gaslight Theatre’s annual awards banquet and members meeting where actors, actresses, backstage, technical, and various extraordinary volunteers are awarded for their accomplishments in the areas of acting, stage or technical work, or going above and beyond as a friend to the theatre.
Ron O'Neal Friend of the Theatre Award
The Ron O’Neal Friend of the Theatre Award is presented to an outstanding volunteer for service above and beyond the call of duty. Recipients may be recognized for their work on stage, backstage or in administration. It is in memory of Ron O’Neal, a special long-time supporter of Gaslight. Gene Riggs Technical Award
The Gene Riggs Technical Award was first awarded in 2001. It was created to acknowledge an individual, who like the award’s namesake, gives above and beyond the call in the "backstage and technical" arena. Gene Nash Scholarship
The Gene Nash Scholarship Award was presented for the first time in 1998. It is presented to a student attending college with plans for a degree in the performing/dramatic arts. Lee Nash established this award in memory of her husband, Gene Nash, and the theatre is honored to continue it. For many years before his death, the name Gene Nash was synonymous with the Gaslight and he is greatly missed.
