Fearful of the growing power of dictator Julius Caesar, Senator Marcus Brutus engages in a conspiracy to assassinate him. But neither Brutus nor his co-conspirators can anticipate the fall out of such a drastic step. In the end, Rome descends into civil war, and the lines between hero and villain become deeply blurred.
