Gaslight: The Revival
Our $1,000,000 Capital Campaign
Gaslight Theatre plans to honor our more than 100 year old building and to give back to the community that makes what we do possible. Our planned renovations cover the theatre, top to bottom and front to back but we need your help. We have divided the Revival Campaign into four parts.
"Good Will Project"
With the pandemic and global shut down bringing our newly launched capital campaign to an abrupt halt we had to pivot from our original plan. Our campaign name "The Revival" suddenly took on two meanings. While originally coined as such to illustrate the revival of the esthetics and history of our 100 year old building, suddenly it also meant surviving and thriving after a global pandemic. Our goal, as our city was coming out of lock down, was to bring hope to the community. We developed the "Good Will Project" as a sign that we would "revive". We chose the renovation and remodel of the Turpin at Gaslight Theatre.
Phase One: Please Be Seated
Ground has been broken, and renovations on our Goodwill Project, the Turpin Facade, have begun. So now we turn our fundraising efforts to and introduce Phase One: Please Be Seated.
The Please Be Seated project focuses on the auditorium and the seats. Investors will be able to take pride in the restoration of our large comfortable seats. Seats will be repaired and reupholstered. New carpet will be installed and the concrete floors refinished. The walls and columns will be updated with new paint, lighting equipment and large displays honoring the history of our building and district.

Phase Two: Name in Lights
Once fundraising is complete for phase one, we will shift our fundraising efforts to Phase Two: Name in Lights.
This phase is a face lift to the facade of the Gaslight Theatre. This will consists of adding vertical signage, that is reminiscent of the former Chief Theater, while simultaneously keeping with the nostalgia of the original 1921 building, but modernizing it with a digital marquee. Accents of lighting, new windows and doors, mimicking the recent changes to the Turpin, will finish off the renovation.

Phase Three: The Final Act
Our big finishing number for the Revival Capital Campaign will be Phase Three: The Final Act
This phase will be our largest yet with renovations to the box office, lobby, restrooms, green room, and dressing rooms! An art deco design with a modern touch will echo throughout the theatre, making it a beautiful and cohesive space that will be inviting and accessible for all.
